Who we are
aXalar (www.axalar.com) is a rural events business run by owner Anne Murray assisted by Ailish Maher. You may contact Anne in her capacity as data controller here.
Why we process your personal data
We collect, store and use your personal data to issue a quote, answer a query, or comply with legal requirements. We do not use your personal data for marketing purposes. All our special offers and activities are currently announced on this website or on social media. We do not send out promotional emails, unless you give your consent to be notified of upcoming activities. Personal data collected may include your name, postal address, email address, and telephone number. The legal basis for processing your data is to perform the services you request or to take necessary steps prior to fulfilling that request (‘contract’). We do not sell your personal information to third parties, or pass it on for marketing purposes. We will only pass on your personal information to organize your holiday. For example, we will pass your names to book accommodation and other services, and will pass on your contact details to the B&Bs and taxi firm in case of an emergency.
Who else receives your personal data
For administrative purposes, other parties that may have access to your personal data include our accountant, computer technician, email and website hosts. All these parties are GDPR-compliant. The aXalar website is hosted by Wix.com, which is fully GDPR-compliant.
How long we keep your personal data
In the case of quotes or requests for information, we delete all personal data after 6 months. In the case of services rendered, we keep personal data for 5 years to comply with Spanish tax obligations. Data are stored in paper and/or electronic format. Paper documents are kept in a locked cabinet while electronic copies are stored on password-protected desktop computers equipped with a firewall and antivirus and regularly updated with security updates. The cabinet and desktop computers are located in Anne Murray’s office.
Your data access rights
You may contact us at any time to ask for a copy of your personal data or to ask us to modify or delete these data. We will take prompt action and inform you of the steps taken within a reasonable period (30 days at the most).
Your right to lodge a complaint
If you have any concerns about how we process your personal data, please contact Anne Murray. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in Spain or in the country where you live.
This Privacy Notice was updated in February 2019 and will be reviewed as necessary.
